FIRST TRI-NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS FEBRUARY 25TH-28TH 2008

Presently, healthcare is grappling with many challenges both nationally and globally, including escalating costs, a move to a preventive care environment and the emergence of a technology savvy patient with high expectations. The underlying goal for healthcare is to provide cost effective quality treatment, i.e., realize its value proposition in this challenging environment. In order to do this the healthcare delivery system needs to maximize its information management and utilize ICTs (Information Communication Technologies) prudently as has been noted by leaders of US and the EU as well as by leading world bodies that focus on global healthcare issues and policy.

In order to move forward then and to provide superior healthcare delivery and advance the field of medical informatics, a good understanding of the current state, the drivers, barriers and facilitators as well as understanding different healthcare systems at a global level is necessary. To address this Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology in conjunction with Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa , Italy and the Berufsakademie, Heidenheim, Germany are please to announce the first Tri-National Workshop on Healthcare Systems.
